FireMaster Automatic Domestic Fire Curtains

Coopers automatic vertical fire curtains are the only perfect solution for ensuring that domestic open plan environments comply with Building Regulations Approved Document B (as specified by NHBC) without the construction of unsightly, fixed fire-rated walls.

If providing a closure in a wall or partition that is less than 25% of the length of the wall then insulation is not required – a standard FireMaster Curtain is adequate. However when protecting a means of escape route then 'FireMaster Plus' will be needed.

The Domestic Fire Curtain completely removes the need to erect solid firewalls, partitions, or when included in their construction, traditional fire doors that can compromise the most innovative design plans. The Coopers domestic fire curtain remains invisibly retracted within its housing until activated by the detection system. The compact, lightweight housing can be simply fitted within a small ceiling void, which allows spacious, open-plan room designs that meet all the relevant fire regulations.

The unique, patented ceiling interface allows the curtain to hide within the ceiling and the Coopers slim side channels (the smallest in the market) can easily be disguised or recessed within the walls.

In the event that the design does not permit either the housing or side channels to be hidden, they can be supplied finished in a polyester powder coating in any colour. A preferred option is a zintec protective coating that can then be decorated to ensure a perfect match with the surrounding colour and texture.

Horizontal Fire Curtains

Coopers automatic, horizontal fire curtains provide the ideal option to stop the spread of fire between floor levels. Perfect in the domestic environment for sealing off stairwells without the need to create a complete enclosure with fixed fire-rated walls, fire rated doors, or a sprinkler system on the ground floor as recommended in Approved Document B. All systems are fully tested to BS EN1634-1 offering 2-hour integrity and fire resistant performance.

Coopers Domestic Fire Curtains (sometimes called Barriers) have a fire resistance of over 2 hours and have been tested in accordance with BS EN1634-1, BS476-6, 7 & 22, BS7346-3 and PAS121.

**Specifications

FireMaster standard curtain (vertical and horizontal) EFP 2/1000 is long established high performance fire textile composite material of a stainless steel reinforced woven glass fibre. The special EFP coating, developed by Coopers nearly 15 years ago, contains a micronised aluminium enriched polymer, which when exposure to fire, is absorbed into the surface of the curtain providing high temperature performance As with all Coopers products the EFP2/1000 is tested both nationally and internationally in accordance with BS EN 1634-1, BS 476-6, 7 & 22.

FireMaster + (protecting means of escape) is a standard curtain coated with a special intumescent and tested in accordance with PAS121 to provide an insulating zone of 30 minutes.
