Coopers Variable Speed Fire Curtains consist of a high quality, motor-driven, flexible fabric fire curtain, which automatically moves when triggered by an alarm.

FireMaster offers both 2 and 4 hour integrity fire curtain as a revolution in active fire separation. It is tested for fire resistance from either or both directions and it allows escape for occupants and entry for emergency services through and under the curtains.

Delayed & split drop deployment controls offer safe escape as well as controls ‘gravity failsafe’ or auto retract, to fully addressable local or remote monitoring systems, enabling easy integration with a dedicated fire and smoke alarm system.

Products are fully tested in accordance with British and European Standards.

The Fire curtain fabric complies with all the requirements of BS476 Part 22 1987. It meets the Class 0 requirements of England and Wales Building Regulations 1991, the requirement for Fire Propagation of BS476 Part 6 1989 and has Nil Spread of Flame, achieving Class 1 according to BS476 Part 7 1997.

Curtain
The EFP 4/1000 is a composite material of stainless steel mesh and woven glass fibre base fabric, coated in a specially developed reflective aluminium enriched polymer. Tested in accordance with BS EN 1634-1, BS 476 Parts 6,7 & 22.

Bottom Rail
A triangular section bottom rail is attached to the curtain to assist downward movement. When in the stored position the fire curtain's bottom bar creates a slimline soffit, with no visible fixings for a clean, uncluttered appearance.

Roller
The fire curtain fabric winds onto a tubular 70mm, 80mm or 100mm barrel of mild steel tube of sufficient diameter and wall thickness to resist deflection - mounted on endplate bearings.

Casing
Casings are manufactured from galvanised steel and are available in a range of sizes to fit various opening heights and widths. The barrel and curtain assembly is housed within the casing, and may be soffit or face fixed to the structure - either directly or by means of drop rods allowing services to be routed above.

Guides
Fire curtains require side guides to provide a seal between the curtain fabric and the structure of the building. A fire can cause positive or negative pressure, which can cause the curtain to billow and pull the fabric out of the side guides. Tabs are fixed to the outer edges of the fire curtain to prevent this occurring. The side guides are made from galvanised steel - 100mm deep x 33mm wide and prepared for fixing to the opening structure by non-visible bolts.

Finish
Guides, bottom rail and casings are supplied as standard in galvanised steel, and are also available polyester powder coated in a range of standard RAL colours at extra cost.
